About Stonywood:

Stonywood Publications intends to publish a small selection of high quality books each year. Our efforts are focused on the development and publication of small niche subjects that are considered too small for the larger publishing houses.

We provide a resource for self-publishing authors. Authors who have a subject they want to write about, but who have little experience and many questions about how to pursue their writing goals, are welcome to use Stonywood Publications in an advisory role.

Our staff provides an information resource for small start-up publishing companies. In its early development, Stonywood Publications duplicated most of the difficulties that small start-up companies experience. Using this background Stonywood is able to provide suggestions and recommendations on how to avoid the pitfalls and missteps a small company might encounter.

Stonywood Publications latest publication is Down Home Delicious by Peggy Touchtone Sholly. This book contains some of Peggy’s original recipes which are robust samples of authentic American food, Louisiana cuisine, Italian American fare and TexMex dishes. On the lighter side, soups, salads, veggies and desserts will delight you also.

Other books to be published by Stonywood Publications will deal with diverse subjects such as the challenges and wonders of growing up in our national parks, a first-hand view of a highly decorated combat infantry company, its men and its battles in the early days of the war in Vietnam, and even an adventure story dealing with spies, terrorism and counter-terrorism set in the Middle East. Watch for them!

About the Publisher:

Robert Sholly had a career in the military and his last assignment was with the U.S. Army Center of Military History. With a master’s degree in history and English, he supervised the writing of the official history books of the U.S. Army and was involved in subject development, outline of series, assignment of authors, writing, reviewing, editing and the publication process. Leaving the military after thirty-five years he entered the business world and had a second career as a technical writer, major business proposal manager, project manager and general manager of a company. After fourteen years he left to become an independent consultant and in 2007 he and his wife Peggy established Stonywood Publications to merge their experience in writing business, and publishing.
